General guidance only
Targets are calculated with established equations (Mifflin-St Jeor resting energy, activity multipliers and evidence-based protein ranges) and then refined from your logged intake and weight trend. They're estimates, not prescriptions.
The app never sets very low calorie targets, limits deficits and surpluses, and doesn't set a deficit during pregnancy or breastfeeding, if you're underweight, or if you've told us about disordered eating.
When to seek help
Speak with a doctor or registered dietitian if you have a medical condition, take medication affected by diet, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or feel that tracking food is affecting your wellbeing. If you're struggling with eating, please reach out to a local eating-disorder support service.
Scale weight
Day-to-day weight changes mostly reflect water, food and glycogen. Scale weight alone can't tell you whether you've gained muscle or lost fat.
